Platinum Guild International USA Releases Platinum Trend Report On Engagement Rings

Six must-have styles are identified in time for retailers to place their holiday orders

July 9, 2024 (New York, New York) – Platinum Guild International USA, the jewellery industry’s authority on the world’s most precious metal, has released a trend report on platinum engagement rings ahead of the busy fourth quarter shopping season. The report identifies six white hot engagement ring styles that are sure to be seen on many ring fingers this holiday proposal season and into 2025.

A stalwart of the 1920’s Art Deco era, platinum has since set the standard for sophisticated, design-forward engagement rings settings for over a century. Inherently timeless, naturally white, and 30 times more rare than gold, platinum is the ideal metal for a ring that will both symbolise and last forever.

From top to bottom: A. Jaffe, Single Stone, Stuller, Simon G, Kirk Kara and Kwiat.

The trends established in the report include Pretty Pastels, pairing coloured gemstones with the incomparable luster of platinum; Gender Fluid, identified by fiercely modern components that are neither masculine nor feminine; Square Dance, a catch-all for several angular cuts; Bezel Up, showcasing naturally white metal borders with clean, seamless looks;  Elegant Emerald Cuts, the undisputed definition of quiet luxury; and Metal Forward, which allows the precious metal’s natural hue to take centerstage.

All the noted trends are demonstrated by an encyclopedia of imagery highlighting the works of a wide range of designers. From bridal jewellery industry mainstays such as Tacori, Kirk Kara, Stuller, and Rahaminov, to several of-the-moment designers, notably Jade Ruzzo, Sorellina, Harwell Godfrey, and Jade Trau, a vast array of design talent is captured in the report.

“We are excited to present Platinum Guild’s latest engagement ring trend report, which showcases the evolution of platinum designs available in the US market in the past few years,” shared Jenny Luker, PGI USA’s president. “The industry has fully embraced platinum’s versatility, timelessness, and naturally white beauty, which has yielded an array of innovative designs and collections like we have never seen before, providing the engagement ring consumer a bevy of options from which to choose to celebrate their commitment.”
